Hammer & Stain, a DIY studio that first opened in Sayville in 2019, is opening a second location, this time at Station Yards in Ronkonkoma.
The news comes some four months after a Main Street fire damaged the original studo. The nighttime fire in Sayville also sparked, damaging several storefronts, soon after Hammer & Stain owner Sandra Bernius signed a lease at Station Yards.
But Bernius and her partner, Roy Winstanley, reopened the Sayville studio, at least a portion of it as they rebuild, and are now pushing forward to open in Ronkonkoma.
No anticipated opening date has been announced.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hammer & Stain to Station Yards,” said Meaghan Coughlan Treat of Tritec Real Estate, the project’s developers. “This creative, community-centered experience aligns perfectly with our vision of making Station Yards a vibrant and engaging destination. We know the community, including our residents, will enjoy the opportunity to tap into their creativity in such a fun and collaborative setting.”
Hammer & Stain, once complete, will open in a nearly 2,500-square-foot space at 9 Hawkins Avenue, in Suite 3102.
