National Intern Day

Matthew Deptola and Louis Frantellizzi working as TRITEC accounting interns

Today, we’re celebrating National Intern Day! We’re grateful for all of our interns, past and present, and the impact that they’ve helped us make on the local community. Meet our two accounting interns, Matthew Deptola and Louis Frantellizzi.

Matthew Deptola is entering his senior year at St. Joseph’s University and is planning on graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree in May 2023. He has been with TRITEC for a year now, where he codes invoices, cuts checks for properties, and closes work orders for TRITEC Asset Management. He also updates and helps manage Account Receivables for properties and tenants. Matthew plans on sitting for the CPA exam very soon after gaining invaluable experience interning at TRITEC.

Louis Frantellizzi is a senior at St. Joseph’s University studying his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He started interning at TRITEC about 10 months ago, where he has learned many aspects of real estate accounting. Some of his tasks include depositing and booking all checks, reconciling bank statements, and compiling monthly financial reports for a few of our properties. He has recently started coding invoices, adjusting journal entries, and analyzing budget variances as well. Louis will be graduating with his bachelor’s degree in the fall but will be continuing his education with St. Joseph’s University in the Master in Business Administration in Accounting program.

Hanneke Talbot, Chief Financial Officer, says that she’s grateful for the partnership TRITEC has with St. Joseph’s University to provide interns with real estate internship experience. “We started the intern program at TRITEC a year and a half ago, and have found that the interns from St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue had been given a great accounting education, and were able to start making a difference quickly. I love being able to give students in our local community the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while they are also able to add value to our business by being true team players.”
