Overview

TRITEC Building Company completed the interior and exterior fit-out of Cornucopia, a specialty natural foods market, within an existing mixed-use development. The project involved the transformation of raw retail space beneath residential units into a fully operational grocery environment with a strong focus on fresh food preparation and merchandising.

Scope of work included extensive HVAC installation with rooftop-mounted condensers, plumbing penetrations into an active parking structure below, and coordination of specialized infrastructure for refrigeration systems and food preparation areas. The team worked closely with the owner's vendors to integrate kitchen equipment, produce refrigeration, walk-in coolers and freezers, and store-wide shelving systems.

Custom butcher block checkout counters and exterior façade enhancements were installed to create a cohesive brand experience both inside and outside the store.

The project required detailed coordination across multiple trades and vendors and was successfully completed within a fast-track schedule.

Since opening, Cornucopia has become an active contributor to the Station Yards community. The market participates in community events throughout the development, helps curate the seasonal farmers market, and supports numerous charitable initiatives at both the local and national levels. Through partnerships with organizations such as Long Island Cares and participation in the 1% for the Planet network, Cornucopia extends its mission beyond retail, promoting healthy living, sustainability, and community engagement.
