Shoregate selected as a finalist for the Urban Land Institute New York’s 2026 Awards for Excellence in Development
The Urban Land Institute New York is pleased to recognize 15 projects as finalists for its tenth annual Awards for Excellence in Development. Seven winners in as many categories will be announced and honored at ULI New York’s Awards Gala on April 29, 2026, at Ziegfeld Ballroom.
The Awards recognize exceptional development projects in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors across New York State that best exemplify ULI’s commitment to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. These prestigious awards recognize the full development process of a project, including that of architecture and design, and reflect best-in-class development. Awards are open to ULI New York members and non-members who have completed private, public, and non-profit projects within the designated window of eligibility. To learn more about the finalists, visit the Awards website here.
Over the coming months, the Awards Jury will tour and evaluate finalist projects and select the winners. The Awards for Excellence Jury is comprised of ULI New York members who span the spectrum of all segments of the New York real estate industry. They include owners, developers, investors, architects, brokers, urban planners, attorneys, and lenders.
“This year’s finalists represent the very best of what development can achieve in New York, projects that have creatively adapted to evolving market conditions while delivering meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact,” said Helen Hwang, Chair of ULI New York and senior executive managing director of the Institutional Investment Sales Group at Meridian Investment Sales, LLC. “From transformative adaptive reuse to innovative infrastructure and housing solutions, these projects exemplify the leadership, vision, and collaboration needed to shape a more resilient and inclusive built environment.”
“The breadth and quality of this year’s finalists underscore the ingenuity and determination required to deliver exceptional projects in today’s complex development landscape,” said Rachel Loeb, Founder and Managing Partner at Muse Partners and Co-Chair of the 2026 Awards for Excellence Gala. “Each finalist demonstrates how thoughtful investment, design excellence, and community-focused development can come together to create places that make New York a better place to live and work.”
In April, ULI New York will celebrate nominees in the following seven categories: adaptive reuse, affordable housing development, civic & institutional development, market-rate housing development, mixed-use development, office development and urban open space.
