TRITEC Building Company was the designer/builder for three 55,000 sq.ft. USPS Processing and Distribution Centers, located in Garden City, New York, West Palm Beach, Florida, and Kilmer, New Jersey. These expanded facilities included a 41,000 sq.ft. mail processing workroom, a 9,000 sq.ft. enclosed truck dock platform and 5,000 sq.ft. of battery recharge shops, loading docks, processing areas, training rooms, and preparations for new mechanization facilities.

These fast track projects utilized the USPS standards modified to meet program requirements. The one-story structural steel expansions included column spans varying from 36 to 50 feet to coordinate with the automated equipment. The structure is designed to withstand hurricane wind velocities, including substantial uplift roof pressures.
