Ms. Karen Shelhorse joined TRITEC Asset Management as a Senior Property Manager and is now Vice President of Asset Management. Karen's focus is on the day-to-day operations of TRITEC's asset and property management division, where she oversees property management staff, a significant portfolio of assets, and serves as a point person on third-party relationships. Karen is passionate about innovation within the real estate industry, and plays a key role in TRITEC’s strategy to integrate new “Proptech” (Property Technology) for our existing communities and occupants, as well as for future developments within the areas of building design, construction, project management, and operations.
Prior to joining TRITEC Karen worked at J.P. Morgan Chase, where she was responsible for creating the program management office at its global headquarters during the redevelopment project at 270 Park Avenue. She also managed the design team RFP and selection process, establishing an innovation research lab. Karen’s experience also includes leading asset operations within the growing Long Island market at Avalon Bay Communities, where she was charged with approval of business plans, operating budgets, market pricing strategies, and contract negotiations. Karen also led strategic planning solutions for Jones Lang Lasalle, managing real estate capacity demands within a commercial office portfolio that spanned 32 locations and nine countries.
Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Art History and a concentration in Architecture from SUNY College at Oneonta. She has her certification and license as a NY Real Estate Salesperson and her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
