James L. Coughlan

Jim Coughlan is a Principal of TRITEC Real Estate Company and co-founded the Company in 1986, with his brother, Bob. Under their shared executive leadership, TRITEC has successfully created a wide range of innovative projects including apartments, mixed-use complexes, industrial parks, mid-rise office buildings, hotels, medical office buildings, R&D facilities and industrial structures that meet the needs of the market while creating new and dynamic opportunities for tenants and surrounding communities.

With his brother Bob, Jim guides development, construction and management of mixed-use complexes, apartment complexes, industrial parks, mid-rise office buildings, hotels, medical office buildings, R&D facilities, and industrial buildings.

Jim also oversees site selection, acquisition, design, municipal approvals, financing, joint venture structuring, construction, leasing and sales of millions of square feet of commercial space.

Jim is actively involved with a number of charitable and not- for-profit organizations that strengthen the quality of life in the Long Island region. Jim has served five years as an Officer on the Board of the Long Island Builder’s Institute, including two years as President and one year as Chairman. Jim is an active board member of the Hauppauge Industrial Association. He also serves as a board member for more than 23 years at the Community Development Corporation of Long Island. Jim recently stepped down after 12 years as Chairman but continues to serve on the board. He has also served as a member of the Children’s Hospital Task Force at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he played a crucial role in assisting Suffolk County’s only hospital dedicated to specialized care for children.

Jim is a graduate of Brown University and studied at New York University Shack Institute of Real Estate.
