Senior Field Superintendent

Prestigious Long Island Construction and Development Company is seeking a Senior Level Field Superintendent to join our Team.

The Senior Superintendent will have a proven track record for leading a staff of Project Superintendents and Assistants on Mixed-Use Multi-Family projects ranging from $50MM to $175MM in value. This individual will be responsible for the Daily Management of the Project Team and a team of subcontractors and consultants as well as perform the Interaction & Coordination of all On-site Subcontractors. Responsibilities also include ensuring everyone’s compliance with safety, adherence to all plans and specifications, safety compliance, overall project quality control and all corporate processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Oversight:

• Oversee and manage all field operations, ensuring project schedules and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate construction activities with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets specifications, standards, and contract requirements.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Supervise and mentor field staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to best practices.
• Assign tasks to foremen and labor crews while providing guidance and problem-solving as needed.
• Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align teams.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with all OSHA, company, and industry safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce safety procedures to minimize risks.
• Address and resolve any safety concerns or violations immediately.

Scheduling & Coordination:

• Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the project manager.
• Monitor and adjust work sequences to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Budget & Cost Control:

• Assist in budget tracking and cost control by identifying potential cost savings and inefficiencies.
• Minimize waste and optimize labor and material usage to stay within financial targets.
• Approve subcontractor work and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Requirements:

• The right candidate must have a minimum of 10 -15 years’ experience in Low-Rise to Mid-Rise Apartments, Mixed use Residential and Commercial industry.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong Site Civil, Concrete Podium and Wood Frame experience a must.
• Must be proficient in Procore, Outlook and Word! Excel & Schedule Software experience a plus!

Supervises: Field Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

Location: Long Island, NY

5 days a week, Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm

Salary: $150,000- $160,000 ~ Exempt, not eligible for OT
