Field Superintendent

Long Island based real estate investment and development platform with a 40+year track record of successfully acquiring, developing, constructing, financing, leasing, and managing real estate projects in the New York and DC metro areas.  Over the past decade, the company has acquired or developed real estate assets exceeding  $3 billion of real estate and maintains ownership interest in over 3.2 million square feet of commercial property.

The Field Superintendent oversees the total construction effort in the field to insure that project is constructed in accordance with design and  schedule.  Provide the field management and technical direction for the safety, quality, productivity and profitability of  project.  Responsible for the efficient and proper use of equipment as well as its safeguarding.  Interface with customers in a positive manner.

Main Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  1. •    Safety/Risk Mitigation – Perform audits to make sure that crews are adhering to company safety policies.  Conducts weekly toolbox talks.  Investigate vehicle accidents, personal injury incidents and general liability occurrences.  Administer corrective actions on safety violations and audit violations. Ensure that proper safety equipment is available and used. Comply with company policies regarding subcontractor insurances and notifications required by office. Mitigate construction defect risk by appropriate use of third-party inspections. Maintains OSHA training and refreshers.
  • Quality – Construct a safe and reliable facility that meets or exceeds the customers’ expectations the first time every time. Coordinate and enforce conformance to plans and specifications. Coordinate and arrange for necessary inspections by governing agencies. 
  • Managing through Leadership – Motivate and inspire subcontractors and vendors through positive reinforcement and timely feedback on expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and related goals. Coordinate trades and suppliers, and actively problem solve.
  • Scheduling and Productivity – Schedule labor and material to accomplish the job in a safe manner  efficiently.  Coordinate material deliveries with the  required lead time to make sure it will be available when work begins Conform to company policy regarding scheduling and updating.
  • Customer Relations and Communications – Maintain positive, continuous communication with customers.  Show integrity and dependability.  Be committed to meeting the customers’ expectations.
  • Communication within the Company – Take the initiative to communicate first with people in the company and keep them informed about issues, problems and successes occurring on the job.  
  • Job Appearance/Logistics – Maintain a clean and safe project and field office. Appropriate signage posted. Project and safety files in order. Daily logs kept and maintained. Schedules posted. As-built drawing set  and project documentation maintained in field office.
  • Project  Close-out – Efficiently conduct project closeout procedures, including timely punch list completion.

Report to:  Project Manager / Construction Executive

Supervises: Subcontractors, Laborers, Material Vendors

The Field Superintendent is expected to perform duties in accordance with TRITEC’s policies and procedures, upholding the company’s commitment to quality, integrity, and teamwork. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management based on the needs of the department or organization.

Location: Long Island, NY

5 days a week, Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm

Salary: $125,000 – $130,000 ~ Exempt, not eligible for OT
