Tritec Real Estate Company has promoted Kevin Law to principal of the Ronkonkoma-based development firm.

Law, who joined Tritec in 2021, currently serves as partner and executive vice president, helping to navigate the firm’s development strategy, advancing projects and expand housing opportunities on Long Island, according to a company statement.

Besides his role at Tritec, Law serves as chairman of Empire State Development Corporation, chairman of the Stony Brook University Council, and chairman of the Long Island Housing Partnership.

Law served for more than a decade as president and CEO of the Long Island Association, helping to secure more than $5 billion in infrastructure investment for the Long Island region. His public service roles include serving as commissioner of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority representing Suffolk County, co-chair of the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council, president and CEO of the Long Island Power Authority, and chief deputy county executive for Suffolk County.

Earlier in his career, Law was managing partner at the Nixon Peabody law firm, where he focused on environmental, energy, land-use, and real estate matters, as well as municipal litigation and regulatory representation.

Law holds degrees from Suffolk County Community College, Stony Brook University, CUNY Hunter College, and St. John’s University School of Law, and completed advanced leadership training at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He recently received Honorary Doctor of Laws degrees from Molloy University and New York Institute of Technology. Law is admitted to the bar of the State of New York and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

“Kevin’s promotion to principal reflects both his impact at Tritec and his extraordinary record of service to Long Island and New York State,” Bob and Jim Coughlan, Tritec co-founders, said in the statement. “His unique ability to bridge public policy and private development continues to strengthen our work and advance meaningful, lasting growth in the communities we serve.”
