PSEG Long Island has honored 17 companies with Energy Efficiency Programs Contractor Awards.

The 17 awards, given earlier this month at PSEG Long Island’s annual Contractor Breakfast and Awards event at the Long Island Hilton in Melville, went to contractors working in the energy efficiency, heating and cooling, and lighting industries. The contractors’ projects helped customers save a collective $53.6 million last year, according to a PSEG Long Island statement.

“We are proud to be recognized with this energy efficiency award from PSEG Long Island to highlight our commitment to the environment,” said Ken Abrami, vice president of Construction Operations at TRITEC Building Company. “Incorporating sustainable practices into the construction of our Shoregate apartments in Bay Shore and other projects has been a cornerstone of our approach to development. We focus on minimizing soil disturbance and erosion, use organic amendments to improve soil quality and our storm water management strategy utilizes green infrastructure to ensure efficient rainfall management on-site. We installed solar panels on the roof and encourage the adoption of EVs by installing charging stations at this multifamily building.”
