Mitchells of Westport

TRITEC Building Company was asked to renovated the Ed Mitchell's clothing store in Westport Connecticut. The interiors of this 31,000 square foot building were completely demolished in phases, upgrading the overall appearance by constructing new finishes that included several designer shops such as Giorgio Armani Black, Hermes, Tod's, Prada, Polo, Zegna, and Hickey Freeman.
Project Size:31,000 sq. ft.
Location:670 Post Road, East Westport, CT 06880
Architect:R. Ceretti Associates Inc.

High-end finishes included imported stonework for walls and floors, venetian plaster, herringbone wood floors, splayed ceilings, and extensive millwork. The exterior portion of this project included a structural transformation of the roof, opening up two large clearstory skylights for the main floor. An additional 4,000 square feet was excavated underneath the store for a sliding storage rack system. The building’s facade was removed and reworked using a combination of thin brick, stucco, storefront glass, and extensive metal work. The site drainage, landscaping, and parking lot were upgraded.

All work was completed on schedule in a nine month period while the store was open for business, “not losing a day of business,” as quoted by the owner.
TRITEC has also constructed Richards of Greenwich and Marshs of Huntington and Vineyard Vines of Greenwich for the Mitchells.
