TRITEC Real Estate holds ribbon cutting for two LEED-certified buildings at Alston Station Square
Ronkonkoma, NY Elected officials and local business and civic leaders attended a ribbon-cutting for the first two buildings in Alston Station Sq. in the Ronkonkoma Hub, a $750 million, 53-acre mixed-use development. Alston, phase one of the Ronkonkoma Hub, has six buildings and a total of 489 apartments. The two open buildings have 245 units available the remaining 244 units will be ready for tenants in the first quarter of next year.
Robert Loscalzo, development partner at TRITEC Real Estate Company, said, “The opening of Alston Station Sq. at the Ronkonkoma Hub is an enormous milestone in the creation of one of the most significant transit-oriented developments in Suffolk County. The Hub was a community-based initiative and involved the collaborative efforts of NYS, Suffolk County, the town of Brookhaven, community civic organizations, Chambers of Commerce, Industrial Development Agencies, organized labor, hundreds of dedicated professionals, and the team at TRITEC. Adjacent to major rail, road, and air resources, this LEED-certified neighborhood development is a destination Long Islanders can be proud of and embodies the best Long Island has to offer. At Alston, amenity space is shared, residents of any building can use the courtyards, gym space, pool or clubrooms inside the property. Building 1 features a community clubroom that opens to a courtyard with an indoor-outdoor fireplace, barbecues, outdoor movie screen, and a greenspace pocket park. Building 2 has a pool, a clubroom, and a grab and go coffee station for people leaving to catch the train.
Construction began in November of 2017. TRITEC expects 1,500 construction workers will have been employed full time at the site at the completion of Alston. TRITEC hopes to begin building Station Sq.’s second phase in the first quarter of 2020. Phase two will include residential and 150,000 s/f of retail, potentially grocer, several restaurants, and a movie theater or entertainment venue. Future phases at Station Sq. will include an assisted living facility and a 125-room hotel within its mix of residential, office, retail, and entertainment uses.
