New Village at Patchogue held The Taste of Patchogue Festival on May 28, 2015 presented by TRITEC Real Estate Company. With live music, tours of New Village and samples of cuisines from ten local restaurants. The event that had nearly 500 attendants was a wonderful kick-off of the summer. This is the first event of many to come during the summer at this exciting mix-use community.
The New Village development promotes an active, pedestrian friendly community. Building off the existing character of Main Street, New Village was designed to reactivate the retail and entertainment venues in Patchogue. Taste of Patchogue offers valuable insight in the New Village lifestyle, Rob Loscalzo Developer and Chief Operating Officer for TRITEC comments, “Events like the Taste of Patchogue exemplify the many ways New Village weaves local culture, modern amenities, and entertaining activities in a low stress, family friendly atmosphere. Residents have the opportunity to meet new people, socialize with old friends or just hang out and people watch.”
With lively music from JAM-X and tasty cuisine to sample from local restaurants including: Del Fuego, Hoshi, The Tap Room, Pera Bell, Public House, The Cheese Patch, That Meat Ball Place, Bobbique, Bierhaus, and Noodle and Company, no one left the festival hungry. The event was held on the Village Green at New Village, which is located on Main Street in Patchogue. Local restaurant owner, Jamie Bonanno, of the Tap Room in downtown Patchogue noted how New Village has benefited the Patchogue community, “New Village has helped shine a brighter light on a thriving downtown and it’s residents and staff have brought new customers through the doors of many businesses including Tap Room. The Taste of Patchogue event is a great example of bringing the community together and helping showcase what Patchogue has to offer.” New Village and TRITEC will be hosting more events this summer including a farmers market and summer concerts that will be held on the Village Green.
Events like Taste of Patchogue are great for the residents of New Village, the Village of Patchogue, and local businesses because it develops a connection that helps strengthen this community that makes it prosper. Dorothy Stallone, Property Manager at New Village said, “The residents enjoyed our first annual Taste of Patchogue. They loved listening to steel drum band and going tent to tent tasting all the food. They left with smiles on their faces and asked if this is something that we are going to do annually. They are really looking forward to the summer and all the events that are scheduled for the Village green area. It was great to see the restaurants and the community come out to enjoy this event and we look forward to working with the community on other events.” New Village and TRITEC will be hosting more events this summer, including a farmers market and summer concerts, and movie nights that will be held on the Village Green. More events are to come this summer.
