New Village is 20 Minute Living

Long Island Index recently published a blog post about the concept of 20 minute living originally created by Gerding Edlen. This idea directly applies to the New Village at Patchogue. The philosophy of 20 minute living is that individuals have easy, convenient access to their daily needs: markets, restaurants, schools and parks all within a 20 minute walk or bike. In order for it to work effectively there needs to be a vibrant mix of commercial and resident establishments. New Village is a mixed used development that has 45,000 square feet of retail, and 18,000 square feet of office space.

New Village at Patchogue is uniquely identified by its central location in downtown Patchogue and its immediate access to all the surrounding area has to offer. This makes the philosophy of 20 minute living a reality. Residents have the full experience living in an area that is situated within steps to restaurants; check out one of our favorites (Del Fuego,) nightlife and entertainment venues accessible on Main Street, as well as within close proximity to the Long Island Railroad and Fire Island Ferry. On New Village got a score of 83 making it a desirable location for an individual looking to engage in the 20-minute lifestyle.

To embody 20 minute living is to take advantage and utilize all the activities and daily needs within your area. This comes together to create a community that many areas lack. The idea that from your living accommodations you walk or bike to a cup of coffee, dinner, and beach making work, live, and play all together.
