Fourth of July and Fire Safety

July 01 Tritec

School is out and summer is in full swing. From camping to backyard barbeques to Fourth-of-July fireworks, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. In the spirit of summer and in honor of our nation’s independence, we would like to share a few helpful reminders about summertime fire safety.

  • Attend public fireworks displays and leave the lighting to the professionals
  • Wear short sleeves or roll your sleeves up when cooking on the grill
  • Only use your grill outside and keep it away from siding and deck rails
  • Open your gas grill before lighting
  • Keep a three-foot “safe zone” around grills, fire pits and campfires
  • Use long-handled barbecue tools
  • Clean your grill after each use
  • Place coals from your charcoal grill in a metal can with a lid once they have cooled
  • Never leave your grill, fire pit or patio torches unattended
  • Build campfires at least 15 feet away from tent walls, shrubs or other materials that may burn

At TRITEC, fire safety is important to us. We work to insure that fire safety precautions are adhered to during all phases of construction. Buildings are built to code and beyond to ensure the safety of the occupants. At Kincora, a 424 acre mixed-use development we are building in Loudoun County Virginia, the Fire Safety Center was our community’s first completed project—built on donated land and opened in 2014. Kincora’s Safety Center, combined with the opening of the Gloucester Parkway Bridge in August, will be instrumental in reducing fire and emergency response times in the area. TRITEC also recently completed construction of the Community Ambulance Company of Sayville, another building designed to reduce response times to the community they serve.
