Retail leasing at New Village at Patchogue is in full swing. Existing tenants Hoshi Sushi & Hibachi, Del Fuego, My Health and Teachers Federal Credit Union have been joined by Arooga’s Grille House and Sports Bar, and soon Locale, a gastro bar and pizzette and SmallCakes Cupcakery and Creamery. Patchogue locals got a sample of Arooga’s at Taste of Patchogue this past May and got the full experience when Arooga’s opened their doors on August 22. Construction has just begun on both SmallCakes and Locale this November.
Arooga’s occupies one of the largest retail storefronts in New Village, located on the corner of Main Street and North Ocean Avenue. Their well-stocked bar has more than 44 taps with both macro brews and a very healthy selection of local craft beers. Arooga’s serves upscale bar food with more than 70 gluten-free options. Arooga’s also has more than 100 TVs to watch any game, anytime; however, they are more than just a sports bar. This year the bar was decked out for Halloween, hosting a Saturday Night Halloween Costume Party and a series of specials that concluded with Monday Night Football. Arooga’s was part of the Fall Craft Crawl in Patchogue where participants can sample a beer from each restaurant and all proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital taking part in the Patchogue Community. To top it all off, Arooga’s will be hosting a “Thanksgiving Eve Party” complete with a live DJ and extended kitchen hours to go well into the night. The Arooga’s franchise hopes the success of the Patchogue location will allow them to open 9 additional restaurants on Long Island.

Locale’s owners, the Castelli Family, traces their roots to Sicily and a long line of restaurateurs. Fabrizio Castelli, owner of Primo Locale, relatives arrived in the United States in 1957, opening a pizzeria in Brooklyn before reaching Long Island in the 1970s. Fabrizio, with his children, Ariana, Francesco and Giuseppe at the helm, the family tradition continues. Primo Locale’s menu will focus on Italian favorites from all corners of the country with a focus on traditional Sicilian offerings, marked by diverse cultural origins. “Family is very important to us,” Fabrizio Castelli said, “We try to bring that into the restaurant. And our customers become a part of who were are. We want you to feel like you’re coming to visit us. This is an extension of our home, basically, our business.”
“The activity level is very high for the remaining spaces at New Village,” said Brian Boker of Schuckman Realty, the exclusive broker for retail space at the New Village. “We hope to announce several new leases in the coming months and fill the remaining space.”
