Congratulations to TRITEC Preconstruction Coordinator Marianne Alvarado’s son Christian on being selected as a George C. Marshall award recipient. Only two hundred seventy-five of the top Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Cadets, representing colleges and universities from across the nation are selected to attend the seminar. ROTC has a total of 275 programs located at colleges and universities throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam with an enrollment of more than 30,000. The Cadets are nominated from their respective programs based on scholarship, leadership, physical fitness and community involvement. All of the cadets who are selected to attend the seminar are designated George C. Marshall Award recipients for their respective year.
The cadets gather at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, from February 22nd-24th to take part in seminars and round table discussions with Army and Defense experts on critical defense and geopolitical matters, and the profession of arms. The exposure to contemporary civilian and military leaders at a high level provides these Cadets unique opportunities they have not received during their college ROTC curriculum. Videos from the speakers presentations at the George C. Marshall Awards & Leadership Seminar can be seen on the U.S. Army Cadet Command YouTube page.
Christian will graduate ROTC this May from State University of New York at Geneseo as a Second Lieutenant with a degree in economics.
